Welcome to OT Jobs Australia

Welcome to OT Jobs Australia

Well, here we are. After months of building, testing and more cups of coffee than I care to admit, OT Jobs Australia is live. I wanted this first post to explain who I am, why this board exists, and what you can expect from it.

A bit about me

I'm Robyne, and I have been an OT for most of my working life. I built a private practice from the ground up, ran it for years, and eventually sold it. Along the way I served as a director of our national association and picked up degrees in law and business, mostly because I kept running into questions that clinical training never answered.

So, I've sat on both sides of the hiring table. I know what it feels like to read a vague job ad and wonder what the role actually involves, and I know how hard it is as an employer to find the right OT when your ad is buried among hundreds of unrelated listings.

Why this board exists

That second problem is really why OT Jobs Australia came about. OT roles end up scattered across the big generalist job sites, mixed in with everything from admin roles to plumbing apprenticeships. Finding them means wading through pages of jobs that have nothing to do with our profession.

It seemed obvious to me that Australian OTs deserved one place where every single listing is relevant. We need to see OT jobs and not allied health jobs in general. Every role on this board is for an occupational therapist, whether that's paediatrics, mental health, aged care, hands, community, NDIS or anything else.

What it costs you as a job seeker

Nothing. The board is completely free for OTs looking for work. You can browse the listings, set yourself up, apply directly. There are no account fees and no catch.

And if you're hiring

Posting a job takes minutes, not hours. You write your ad, choose your listing type, and it goes live for 30 days. There are no subscriptions, lock-in contracts or sales calls. OT Jobs Australia provides a straightforward way to put your role in front of the one audience that matters: Australian OTs who are actually looking.

What happens next

This is just the beginning. I'll be adding resources and posts here over the coming months, and I'd genuinely love your feedback on what's working and what isn't. If you spot something odd or have an idea, drop me a line through the contact page.

Thanks for being here at the start. Go have a look at jobs that might suit you, and if you know an OT who's job hunting or a practice that's hiring, send them here.
