As our Canberra team continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist with current Comcare accreditation to join our occupational rehabilitation team.

About the role

This is a varied role for an experienced Occupational Therapist who enjoys problem solving, stakeholder engagement and achieving meaningful return-to-work outcomes.

Working across a predominantly occupational rehabilitation caseload, you'll support people recovering from physical and psychological injuries and health conditions to remain at work or safely return to meaningful employment.

You'll have the opportunity to work across a range of schemes and services while being part of an experienced multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.

What you'll be doing

Depending on your experience and caseload, your role may include:

• Conducting initial rehabilitation assessments and developing goal-focused rehabilitation plans.
• Managing same-employer return-to-work rehabilitation.
• Developing and monitoring graded return-to-work and suitable duties programs.
• Conducting workplace and worksite assessments.
• Identifying functional and workplace barriers and developing practical strategies to address them.
• Completing Activities of Daily Living and functional assessments.
• Conducting ergonomic assessments and recommending workplace modifications.
• Supporting workers with both physical and psychological injuries.
• Coordinating rehabilitation with workers, employers, insurers, Rehabilitation Case Managers, treating practitioners and other stakeholders.
• Facilitating case conferences and collaborative return-to-work planning.
• Proactively identifying and addressing barriers that may delay recovery or return to work.
• Preparing concise, strategic and evidence-based rehabilitation reports.
• Working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team of Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Counsellors, Physiotherapists and other health professionals.

There are also opportunities to work across complex rehabilitation, life insurance, CTP and ELEV8's specialised workplace programs depending on your experience and interests.

About you

We're looking for an experienced occupational rehabilitation professional who is proactive, strategic and comfortable managing rehabilitation within the Comcare environment.

Essential

• Qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.
• Current Comcare accreditation as a Workplace Rehabilitation Consultant.
• Previous occupational rehabilitation experience.
• Experience managing workplace rehabilitation and return-to-work cases.
• Strong understanding of rehabilitation planning and return-to-work principles.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Confidence working with employers, insurers, treating practitioners and other stakeholders.
• Strong written communication and report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and proactively progress a caseload.
• Current driver's licence and ability to attend workplaces and appointments as required.

Experience across psychological injury, complex Comcare claims, ACT Workers Compensation, SIRA NSW, CTP and/or life insurance will be highly regarded.
