Occupational Therapist | New graduates and experienced OTs welcome| Ballina, NSW |Part time or full time

At Sunshine Speech & Allied Health (SSAH), we believe good therapy starts with people feeling seen, safe and understood. We’re a growing allied health team in Ballina, providing practical, neurodiversity affirming support to children, adolescents and adults across the Northern Rivers.

We’re looking for an Occupational Therapist who values relationships, thoughtful clinical reasoning and therapy that makes a difference in everyday life. Whether you’re beginning your career or bringing years of experience, we’d love to hear what interests you and how you’d like to grow.

The role

You can choose a paediatric, adult or mixed caseload based on your clinical interests and strengths. Your work may include sensory and regulation support, self care and daily living skills, motor development, routines, school participation or adult independence.

Most appointments are based in our Ballina clinic, with home, school and community visits where they make sense for the person and their goals. You’ll work closely with our speech pathologists, OTs and allied health assistants, with a supportive administration team behind you.

We want to build a role that works for the right person over the long term. Burnout is real. We’ll talk with you about your interests, hours, caseload and support needs so you can grow your confidence and do good clinical work at a sustainable pace.

• Weekly one to one supervision and clinical guidance from our OT lead
• A supported introduction to the role, with caseload complexity matched to your experience and confidence
• Protected time for clinical notes, monthly internal professional development and monthly team meetings

• A work computer and a dedicated administration team who manage bookings, scheduling and client appointment coordination

New graduates: You’ll have space to build your skills and clinical independence over time, with guidance when a presentation is unfamiliar or complex.

Experienced OTs: We’ll value the expertise you bring and give you room to shape your caseload, mentor others and contribute to service development if that interests you.

About you

You’re an Occupational Therapist with AHPRA registration, or eligible for registration by the time you start. You’re curious, collaborative and committed to respectful, evidence informed practice. You can connect with clients and families as people first, then work with them towards goals that matter in their lives.
