Neurodiverse Playhouse is growing, and we're looking for a passionate full-time Occupational Therapist to join our team across our Spring Hill and Banyo Playhouses.

This is an exciting opportunity for an OT who wants more than a traditional clinical role.

About Neurodiverse Playhouse

Neurodiverse Playhouse is a family-centred, neurodiversity-affirming allied health environment supporting children, young people and their families.

We believe children don't need to be "fixed" to thrive. We meet children where they are, recognise their strengths and individuality, and create meaningful opportunities for them to participate, connect, build confidence and develop skills through therapy, movement, play and connection.

Our Playhouses are designed to feel different from a traditional clinic.

With indoor and outdoor therapy spaces, opportunities for movement and play, and a collaborative team environment, we encourage therapists to get creative and think beyond the four walls of a therapy room.

You will work closely alongside our Exercise Physiologists and Podiatry team, creating opportunities for genuinely collaborative and holistic support for the children and families we work with.

The Role

As our Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to develop a varied and rewarding caseload across both individual and small-group therapy.

Your work may include:

• Individual occupational therapy for children and young people
• Small-group therapy programs
• Play-based therapy
• Sensory and motor-based programs
• Primitive reflex integration programs
• Prep readiness programs
• Kindy Uplift and early childhood programs
• Supporting children with participation, emotional regulation, independence and everyday skills
• Working collaboratively with Exercise Physiologists and Podiatrists
• Developing new and innovative group programs
• Expanding our support for adolescents
• Developing health and wellness programs for young people
• Working with families and other professionals to create meaningful and practical outcomes

We are particularly excited to continue expanding our adolescent caseload and programs, creating opportunities for young people to build confidence, independence, health, wellbeing and the skills they need for everyday life.

Innovation Is Part of Our Future

Neurodiverse Playhouse is continuing to evolve, and we are exploring and introducing a range of emerging technologies and approaches within our broader health and wellness model.

This includes emerging areas such as:

• Infrared light therapy
• EEG-based technologies
• TMS and other emerging therapeutic technologies
• Health and wellness programs
• Movement and sensory-based approaches

Essential Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current registration with AHPRA
• Experience working with children and/or young people
• A current Working with Children Check / Blue Card
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A genuine passion for supporting children, young people and families

Experience in areas such as paediatrics, sensory and motor development, group programs, adolescent health and wellbeing, early intervention, prep readiness or play-based therapy will be highly regarded.
