Paediatric Occupational Therapist

Thrive and Grow OT is a small, established occupational therapy practice supporting children and families across the Sutherland Shire and St George areas.

We are looking for a friendly and motivated Occupational Therapist to join the practice on a casual basis for 1–2 days per week, with the opportunity for the role to grow over time.

This position would suit either a Level 1 or Level 2 Occupational Therapist, including a new graduate looking to develop their skills within paediatric occupational therapy.

About the Role

The role involves providing occupational therapy services to children within their everyday environments, including:

• Schools
• Preschools and daycares
• Family homes
• Telehealth, where appropriate

The caseload will be developed gradually, with support and supervision provided.

Responsibilities may include:

• Providing individual occupational therapy assessment and intervention
• Supporting children with fine and gross motor skills, regulation, sensory processing, handwriting, self-care, executive functioning and participation
• Providing education and strategies to parents, teachers and educators
• Completing relevant screening and assessment tools
• Maintaining clinical documentation and therapy notes
• Collaborating with families, educators and other professionals involved in the child’s care

About You

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who:

• Holds current AHPRA registration as an Occupational Therapist
• Is suitable for a Level 1 or Level 2 position
• Has an interest in working with children and families
• Is warm, organised and able to work independently within the community
• Has good communication and time-management skills
• Holds a current Working With Children Check
• Holds a current Australian driver’s licence
• Has access to a reliable vehicle for travelling to appointments
• Has appropriate insurance for work-related vehicle travel
• Has Australian working rights
