Team Leader - Occupational Therapy

About the role

Mater Health has an exciting role for an Occupational Therapy-Team Leader to join the team in a 4-month fixed-term full-time basis.

This position is based at our South Brisbane campus.

In this role you will lead the provision, coordination, and operational management of the acute adult occupational therapy services at the Mater. In this role, you will lead the delivery of high-quality occupational therapy services, champion quality improvement and research activities, and support the professional development and performance of a dedicated team of occupational therapists and assistants.

Salary range: $77.20 - $80.55 (HP5) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900  + access to many staff benefits! 

What you’ll be doing

• Co-ordination of Occupational Therapy services, staff and resources to balance requirements for streamlined, effective service delivery and to build capacity and sustainability within Mater Occupational Therapy services across Mater sites in identified health priority areas.
• Assume ongoing responsibility for the management of all day-to-day service requirements including resource co-ordination, operational supervision and performance development for a large team of occupational therapists and support staff.
• Lead and facilitate the development of Occupational Therapy clinical practices, procedures, protocols, education programs and quality or research activities that support the continuum of care based on valid and reliable evidence across Mater Occupational Therapy services as indicated, and in collaboration with the Occupational Therapy leadership team.
• Lead and facilitate service development, education programs, and research associated with services provided by Mater Occupational Therapy as an integral part of multiple multidisciplinary teams across multiple sites representing those services as indicated at state or area wide forums.
• Contribute to strategic service planning and development of Occupational Therapy and actively contribute to allied health services across Mater sites.

To be considered for this role you will have demonstrated success in leading and managing a successful team coupled with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
