PAEDIATRIC or GENERALIST OT – READY FOR SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT?

📍 Nhulunbuy | East Arnhem Land, NT

Melaleuca Therapies is recruiting

We’re looking for an experienced Paediatric OT who is ready to take the next step in career development.

⭐  Paediatric or Generalist OT  💰 $76,951–$103,451 + super + incentives

The role can be tailored to your preferences and grow with you.

A significant part of what makes working with us different is the opportunity to develop experience in remote community practice, Indigenous health and disability. Our clinicians work across Nhulunbuy, the Gove Peninsula and remote Yolŋu communities across East Arnhem Land, supporting children, adults and families with a range of developmental, disability and functional needs.

This is allied health practice that extends well beyond the clinic. It requires clinicians to think flexibly, work collaboratively and provide services that are responsive to the individual, family, community and cultural context.

🌴 Why make the move to Melaleuca Therapies?

There are some pretty good reasons to consider swapping the commute for East Arnhem Land:

🏡 Subsidised housing – making the move and cost of living more manageable

🌴 5 weeks annual leave

🎄 1 week Christmas leave

🎂 Birthday leave – because no one should have to work on their birthday!

📚 5 days professional development leave

🌱 In-house professional development and opportunities to grow your clinical and leadership skills

🤝 Supportive multidisciplinary environment

🧭 Cultural orientation and training to support working in the region

🚙 Defensive driver training for remote work

✈️ Relocation support may be available through NT PHN for eligible applicants, subject to current funding and eligibility

And then there’s the part that’s difficult to put into a benefits package, where you get to live and work. East Arnhem Land offers an opportunity to experience a part of Australia that very few people get to call home.

Professionally, it’s also an opportunity to build skills that are difficult to replicate in metropolitan practice, working across paediatrics, disability, Indigenous health and remote community settings, alongside families, local organisations and other health and community services.

Our clinicians have opportunities to travel to remote communities and learn how to deliver allied health services in environments where relationships, cultural responsiveness, collaboration and adaptability are fundamental to good practice.

You can finish work and be at the beach in minutes, spend weekends camping and exploring, and still be doing genuinely interesting clinical work.

You don’t necessarily need previous remote experience. We’re much more interested in finding clinicians who are experienced, adaptable, clinically strong, culturally curious and genuinely interested in working respectfully with Yolŋu families and communities and becoming part of our team and community.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to do something like that one day”, this might be the time to have the conversation.
