LIFE-CHANGING WORK. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

If you are looking for a role where your clinical skills genuinely change lives, Arnhem Health offers something increasingly rare: the opportunity to deliver meaningful healthcare while living and working in one of Australia’s most culturally significant and breathtaking regions.

Here, your work is not about helping people fit into a healthcare system. It is about helping healthcare reach people where they belong.

You will join a multidisciplinary allied health team working across Nhulunbuy and East Arnhem Land. Depending on your caseload, your week may include clinic-based care, schools, community settings, telehealth, aged care and outreach to remote communities. You will build long-term therapeutic relationships, work with autonomy and support, and develop capabilities that are difficult to replicate in metropolitan practice.

We are looking for clinicians who are curious, respectful, adaptable and committed to high-quality care. You do not need to arrive knowing everything about remote practice. Our structured 100-Day Onboarding Program is designed to help you progressively build confidence in our systems, communities, service pathways and way of working.

The Role

As a senior occupational therapist, you will provide high-quality occupational therapy services across clinic, community and remote settings while working as part of Arnhem Allied Health’s multidisciplinary allied health team.

The role combines autonomous clinical practice with opportunities to contribute to the ongoing development, collaboration and quality of occupational therapy services.

You will work across a varied caseload, delivering person-centred assessment and intervention while supporting positive outcomes for clients, families and communities across Nhulunbuy and East Arnhem Land.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments with a focus on understanding the cultural, functional and individual needs of clients, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients and communities.
  • Develop and maintain accurate clinical records, including assessment findings, therapy plans and progress notes.
  • Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to support clients in improving their independence, functional capacity and participation in everyday activities.
  • Develop individualised therapy plans and utilise appropriate therapeutic strategies, equipment and environmental modifications to support clients in achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate with Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists and other healthcare professionals within our multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and quality improvement of Occupational Therapy services.
  • Review client progress and adapt therapy plans as required, including participation in relevant case conferences and multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Deliver culturally respectful occupational therapy services to clients across Nhulunbuy and remote East Arnhem Land communities.

Preferred Start Date: Before 1 December 2026

Base Salary + Superannuation (Full-time, HP Level 2.1 - 2.4)

$110,335.10 - $121,633.08 base rate + superannuation

Plus:

  • Up to $10,000 relocation assistance Northern Territory Primary Health Network (NTPHN)
  • Heavily susidised accomodation at $200 per week
